BUMP Self-Referral Portal

If you have a positive pregnancy test, you can now refer yourself online for maternity care, there’s no need to see a doctor or nurse at the practice first.

Our practice is registered on the BUMP online referral portal, so all you need to do is visit the secure link below and fill in the requested information. You’ll need your NHS number and the name of your GP practice.

The information you provide will be used by your community maternity team and the booking office at your chosen hospital in Birmingham or Solihull. Your GP practice will also receive a copy of your referral for their records.

You can complete the referral on your mobile, laptop, or computer. This link can also be used to refer on behalf of someone else, with their consent.

Self refer via the BUMP portal

Important: When completing your referral, search for your GP practice by its postcode in the portal’s drop-down list. Please ensure all information is accurate, as incorrect details may delay your care.

You’ll be able to select a first, second and third preferred choice of hospitals to provide your care and for the birth of your baby; we have a number of birthing facilitating.

Hospital sites

If you would like to refer to any other hospital then please speak with your community midwife at your first ante-natal booking appointment or contact your GP.

Community Midwifery Contact

The community midwifery team assigned to your GP practice will contact you within 7 to 10 working days after referral. If you don’t hear from them, contact the team directly:

  • Weoley Castle Team: 0121 483 2134 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 10am and 4pm to 5pm)
