Local Support

Bereavement Support Group

The Bereavement Support Group at Northfield Baptist Church offers a welcoming, confidential space for anyone grieving the loss of a loved one. Whether your loss is recent or some time ago, you are warmly invited to join others who understand the pain and confusion that bereavement can bring.

Who Can Attend?

Our group is open to all adults aged 18 and over adults of all backgrounds and beliefs. You do not need to be a member of Northfield Baptist Church or have any religious affiliation to take part. Everyone is welcome.

What to Expect

  • Friendly, Non-Judgmental Support: Meet others who are experiencing similar feelings and challenges.
  • Guided Conversations: Sessions are gently facilitated by trained volunteers who listen and offer support, never advice or pressure.
  • Safe and Confidential: What you share stays within the group.
  • Flexible Participation: You can talk, listen, or simply sit quietly—there is no expectation to share more than you feel comfortable with.
  • Practical Resources: Access information about coping with grief, local support services, and helpful reading materials.

Held in person every Wednesday, 10.30am to 12 noon.
